A character design based on Roger Zelazny's sci-fi classic, "Lord of Light". Basically, the look is a mix of ancient Hindu art and arcane high technology. The novel itself is set in a future, colonized world, where a few individuals have appropriated all the advanced technology, including reincarnation, and have named themselves after Hindu gods. Then comes along a Buddha-warrior-anarchist like character named Mahasamatman, or "Sam" for short, who attempts to overthrow these so-called gods.

The design is not totally accurate as described in the book, I just chose to make a modern, more extreme version of this guy. In the book, he carries a "fire-wand" as a weapon...

"Agni, God of Fire, is at first a fearsome being armed with a wand that emits the Universal Fire, evidently thermonuclear in nature, which destroys anything it touches. The wand itself can only be held by wearing a special glove, presumably to protect the holder. He also has goggles that enable him to see in infra-red and ultra-violet radiation, and for immense distances. It is said he scored the face of the Moon with his wand, while standing on the ground."
